Gwynn's Falls/Leakin Park, Baltimore
This is the largest woodland park in the USA and covers 1,216 acres of parkland. The millionare inventor, Thomas Winans, is located in the Park, It is in need of major repairs and I hope that one day it will be a museum to honor his memory.
The following is an article that appeared in the New York Times at the time of his passing: http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F70A1EFB3F5A127B93C3A8178DD85F4C8784F9
Palace of Gold
A recent trip to Moundsville, WV brought a spectacular surprise: The Palace of Gold lies about 20 miles outside of the town, along a winding road along a rural road. There, ensconced behind the privacy of the Palace walls, was the most spectacular rose garden I have ever seen. The perfume of the roses wafted on the breeze, alerting us the the beauty that awaited...it was absolutely breathtaking, the colors, the scent...it was quite heavenly!
We were given a tour by a saffron robed monk and were allowed to take some photographs of the beautiful stained glass windows. After the tour we were invited to the New Vrindaban's RVC Temple to enjoy a free lunch and to see the temple's ceiling, which has the largest stained glass ceiling in the USA, all created by devotees of the guru.
